TSHWANE AREA
(Never walk alone, always go in
a group)

|
FAERYGLEN
NATURE RESERVE
This is one of the
nicest dogwalks in Gauteng. You walk along a pretty river valley
and up to some steepish peaks. Remember to take a long lead with
you though. And don't forget to take some money for some
refreshments at the tea garden afterwards.

FOUNTAINS
NATURE RESERVE
A once a month
organised dogwalk by Run Walk for Wildlife. The 5km route
changes every month and dogs on leads are welcome. R20pp, dogs
free, 1st Saturday of the month, starts 8am

GARSKLOOF
PARK
Tshwane Nature
Conservation are trying to ease the pressure off the Moreletta
Spruit area. So they are developing this park into a dedicated
dogwalking park. Already it has doubled in size since I 1st
walked there. It is a gentle ramble through some Highveld
vegetation in a fenced off park.

SMUTS HOUSE (IRENE)
A
very pleasant and safe 2-3 km walk to a special koppie where Gen
JC Smuts meditated on life, the United Nations and everything.
And don’t forget to visit his old residence, Smuts’ House.
