Every year the
South African Sled Dog Championship is the highlight of the sledding
calendar.
The winners of the various classes then become eligible to participate on
their own cost at the IFSS Dryland World Championship and/or the WSA "Snow"
World Championships. In the latter the mushers will have to get acquainted
with mushing on snow and it's advised to leave at least 1 month prior to the
World Championships in having any change to be competitive against other
participants.
As a Breed &
Working Club, the Alaskan Malamute Breed & Working Club would love to see
that owners of the Alaskan Malamute breed get more involved in working
activities such as sledding and weight pulling for that matter. In being
able to "pull" is fundamental for the Alaskan Malamute breed to maintain
their ability for what they where born for.
